Inspiration for the piece:

If my heart could speak, what would it say? My heart would say, "Help!" I have grown from a boy to a man with chains on my neck and hands. It would say help because through everything it's trying to understand God's plan. My heart would say help because it's been away from my loved ones so long and no, I'm not talking about visits because I've had those. Not the gaping space that stands between us as I view them from afar.

What role does art play in your life?

Art for me is freedom. It has been nothing but the best way for me to express myself without words.
