Inspiration for the piece:

This Death Cowboy painting represents two worlds - life and death. Life being the bright abstract colors and death by the skeleton cowboy shooting his pistols.

Artist statement:

If my heart could speak, this is what it would say. That we people as inmates are not just corpses walking around with six digit numbers but are loving, caring people with families that support us. No matter what we have done, fi we have faith and perseverance and ask God for forgiveness.
