Inspiration for the piece:

As I sit in this cage, I always view birds as free, but I didn't want to do an eagle or hawk. I wanted to catch the viewer's eye, and a kingfisher caught my eye with its bright colors. I feel free and viewed.

What role does art play in your life?

Art is an everyday thing for me. I look at the world as my muse and I want to capture it with each piece I do, not just something that means a lot to me but what means a lot to the world.
