Want to see a magic trick? by Micuda

Inspiration:

I used the "justice" theme, my experience in the courts, and I happened to be experimenting with gears (beadwork) when the theme came along. I knew it would not be a working clock, so in came the chains to "stop" the clock. Then I started thinking how it reminded me of magicians in similar situations.

Justice statement:

I have not really "defined" justice to myself. It is not a word that I use regularly. I am still trying to understand what justice is. I have not yet truly seen an example of justice. My art reflects my experience with the court. Titled "Want to See a Magic Trick?" - a clock wrapped in locks/chain stuck in a cage (no doors), surrounded by bad legal precedent. Basically, if you have a bad public defender, there is no avenue to complain against any public defender. State public defenders have refused to assist on ineffective assistance claims since 1992, on appeals and post-convicion.You have to prove it yourself without an attorney. Pro Se claims typically fail. Lawsuits are blocked. Lawyers Responsibility Board has a rule to summarily dismiss such claims against public defenders. Habeas Corpus usually fails for the same reasons as Pro Se claims failed - there is no way to remedy ineffective assistance claims against public defenders.
