Inspiration for the piece:

I struggle with mental health and so do my daughters. This piece comes straight from my heart and soul. Being in prison or in a place where you feel alone and the demons around you keep showing up to torment you. I made this as my way to fight those demons and show myself and others that just because we have struggles, we are not alone and to never give into those demons we fight on a daily basis.

Artist statement:

I love to create with acrylic paint. I used to only mark art with pencils and blending stumps. Color used to scare me, let alone actually painting a picture. I struggle with mental health and creating art really makes that better. I get ot tell a story from my point of view then share it with others who maybe don't quite know how to put their struggles into words, or for my sake a picture. I hope someday my art takes me someplace where I'll be able to share my story, or maybe my art will save someone or even inspire. The possibilities are endless.
