Inspiration:

In thinking what justice could be, I couldn't picture just one definite thing. And the common theme when asking others was law, spirituality and time. So, the definitive lady justice, praying hands, and time clock is held together by the past, present and future of the floral piece.

I portrayed the past/harm, the present/justice and future/re-growth in the three flowers.I tried adding mysteriousness to time, a dreamlike state to prayers, and the solidness of the justice system, all in its literal form, connected together with open space/white.

What role does art play in your life?

Art has been my compass most of my life. Many of my struggles were overcome with the help of making art. Art sessions during struggles allow me to get new perspectives on the problem and rethink solutions/responses. Inspirations come randomly and, depending on where I am in life, or what I am experiencing, the simplest things will inspire me.

Justice statement:

I feel justice is subjective. Depending on the point of view, it can be established in many ways. And I see that it always takes time. Some seek "material justice," which I feel is in the form of the legal or illegal means, the court process, or revenge in the eyes of criminals. Some wait for "natural justice" to happen. This is usually allowing a higher power to decide what, if any, justice will be. Either one will take time.
