Inspiration:

Injustice to the Native Women and Men. Where is my relative Mato Dow? Last contact 10/13/2019. Last seen at his apartment in Redwood Falls, Minnesota (Red Wood County). Date of birth 11/16/1991. Wher is the justice? Apparently law enforcement have not charged or prosecuted anyone in my realive's disapperance? #MMIW #MMIR -Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives.

Justice statement:

I believe justice is to make even or attempt to make whole again. It can come in many forms, Criminal Justice, Reformative Justice, Street Justice, Balance of Justice by the Universe.

Inspired by the injustices to my community, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) movement. Native American women raped 2nd highest of all ethnicities, 43.7% raped in lifetime (CDC report 2020). In 2016, 5,712 reported, only 16 logged in D.O.J. (National Crime Info Center 2016). The Native American male 2nd highest rate of homocide of all ethnic groups (source Center for Disease Control Prevention, 2020).

I would like to honor the American Bison, Tatanka, My Dakota ancestors would utilize the entire animal. The Dakota is part of the Great Sioux Nation who thrived and lived off the bison. The tatanka represented strength, and is a sacred relative of the Dakota.

The red hand highlights the violence my comminity experiences. Why are the indigenous men and women deemed less important? Why are we so prone for violence? What is the solution? Where is the justice for my community?
