Inspiration for the piece:

The message for the piece was "what would my heart say if it could speak?" That inspired me to create a piece that shows both the good and the bad that have been engraved on my heart forever throughout my life experiences. These things have made me the person I am today and not allow the bad to overpower the good.

What role does art play in your life?

Art is a way for me to express my feelings. It also provides sensations of peace and calmness for my overall well being. Everyday life is my inspiration.

Artist statement:

I initially started being regularly involved with art when I was home with my kids. We would do all sorts of fun projects, and my enjoyment came from seeing how happy my kids were, and the smiles on their faces. Fast forward to the present and I'm still making art a part of my life, even being away from my children. I love all different forms of art. There is beauty in everything. Art is a way for me to express myself. It is a form of relaxation for me. It forces me to focus on the piece I'm working on, and allows all of the stress I'm feeling to just melt away.
