Art is a wonderful way for me to express myself. Drawing, beading or coloring - it soothes me. Helps put into perspective where words cannot. The beauty in a new project and the joy it will bring helps inspire my art.

IDENTITY STATEMENT
I want to be seen for the person I am rather than the things I’ve done. I am more than the labels that have been pushed on me. My journey has been a rocky one but it’s far from over. My past does not define me, it has given me many lessons. I grow and heal every single day as the beautiful native woman I was born to be.

When I was given the theme idea for our final project, the first thought that came to mind was how art frees my heart. Free from sorrow, sadness, anger and fear. From the prisons I put myself in mentally and physically. Free from holding on to the pain death has carved in my life. My heart says I'm free and I believe it.
