Aged by Ben Adams

Aged

Acrylic on cardboard

This piece is an expression of an all too real fear that many of us have in prison. One that stems from having to leave here later in life, and as a result of our age we would be past the point of usefulness. None of us want to be a drain on society.

Identity Statement

I can't help but to see identity as a variable. One that can only be governed by perspective. I have been many things to many people over the years. Some of those qualities have been counted as a great value, and others as quite detrimental. I think that all would agree that I have always been able to adapt and overcome. In truth, I expect only to be seen as I am in each moment. It is my hope that whoever that may be, it will in some way to be of value to someone.

What role does art play in your life?

Art for me sometimes gives purpose to a life void of relevance. Often times it is an expression of a thought or a feeling.
