Dear Friends, During our last exhibit, Shifting Perspectives (now closed), we hosted a powerful panel discussion titled Creativity Heals in an UNcreative Place—exploring the intersection of art, healing, and transformation. The evening opened with a presentation by David Gussak, Ph.D., ATR-BC, HLM, who has taught in the Florida State University Art Therapy program for nearly 25 years, including 10 years as Chairperson of FSU’s Department of Art Education. With more than 30 years of clinical and practical experience, Dr. Gussak has worked across forensic systems, correctional institutions, and private practice. He is the Project Consultant for the FSU/Florida Department of Corrections Art Therapy in Prisons program and this August will become the founding Director of the new FSU Institute for the Arts and Art Therapy with the Imprisoned (AATI). Following Dr. Gussak’s presentation, a compelling panel brought together diverse voices: Antonio Espinosa – Founder, Art from the Inside Liz Bechel – Clinical Program Therapist and Art Therapist Christopheraaron Deanes – Artist and Educator David Lenarz – Artist and Creative Pathways Fellow Molly Evans – Creative Practitioner, Educator, and Artist
